| The
name " Dongbei " means " Northeast " in Chinese. The Dongbei Piano
Factory's history can be traced back to the early 1920's. It was
once part of the Shanghai Piano Company, the only piano manufacturer
in all of China. In 1952 it became an independent company, moving to
northeast of China where the wood materials are of the highest
quality in all of Asia. The company was newly named Dongbei Piano
Factory.
Many changes have
taken place in their fifty year history, especially the last three.
Dongbei has become one of the largest producers of grand and upright
pianos. They now rank in same category of many of the worlds finest
piano makers.
The factory covers
an area of nearly 500,000 sq ft. They employ 2300 highly trained
individuals. The majority of the key equipments is imported from
Germany, Sweden and Japan. Over 1000 pieces of high tech equipment
are used in the production of these instruments.
The factory produces
approximately 30,000 upright and 10,000 grand pianos per year. With
more then 50 years of piano production history, they have
