This guitar is one of only 15 made. This is the LAST of them. It is literally serial #15. This is Quilted Honduran Mahogany from "THE TREE"! - Honduran Mahogany is becoming increasingly rare. Like other Mahogany’s it has a warm lively tone with clear mids and trebles. Often referred to as having a ”woody” tone it’s low overtone content gives it a crisp strong fundamental that is bright and responsive. Its grain is generally tighter than that of African Mahogany. This particular wood was sourced from a Honduran Mahogany tree that was felled in 1965, which fell into a ravine, where it stayed untouched for 18 years. The tree itself was over 100 feet high and more than 10 in diameter at the base. The first branches STARTED 50 feet up! The log eventually was quarted and then traveled 100 miles through the jungle to a river. The quartered logs were then sawed in half again, then floated 70 miles to a steam-operated sawmill. When finally opened at the mill, the log was revealed to be of the highest figured mahogany, known as Quilted or Blistered Mahogany. As you can see by the photos this is one remarkable guitar.

Adirondack Red Spruce - Some call it the “holy grail” of top woods. It was widely used on pre-war and vintage instruments. Adirondack has a crisp, clear tone with high headroom and a strong fundamental.

Depth at the tail block is 3.5 inches. As on all McPhersons, the depth at the neck block is 4 inches.
