a drum industry veteran;
John Van Ness.
John ran the drum department at Caruso Music in the
80’s and 90’s. That experience lead to twelve years
representing some of the drum industry’s most
prestigious brands. During his time “on the road”, he
formed close personal relationships with top artists,
and continues to enjoy the connections he made with
key people at drum, cymbal, and percussion companies
worldwide. Our customers benefit from this daily. |
INSIGHT: As an active member of the on-line and brick and mortar drumming community, John stays on top of trends to know what his customers expect. His “behind the scenes” status with the world’s best companies provides him with an inside track to information and gear. Chances are very good he’ll have an answer for you.
EXPERIENCE: 35 years as a drummer, and 20 years working in musical instrument retail and wholesale provides a depth of knowledge that is rarely found elsewhere. John’s many duties as a Manufacturer’s Rep included sales to music stores, product training for store employees, merchandising, and tech-ing for artists on extensive clinic tours.
PASSION: We have an unwavering desire to promote drums and drumming in a positive, friendly environment. John understands the passion that drummers have to express themselves, and to share ideas and concepts. This camaraderie really is something special. He’s not afraid to stray from conventional thinking to accommodate a drummer’s ideas, but will also provide careful guidance rooted in his solid real-world experience.
