Trade in

We're Interested

Let’s talk trade-ins. We are happy to discuss the possibility of taking your instruments in on trade. We also buy used guitars and can always sell your guitar on consignment.

Here is how trade-in works. We will take your guitar in trade towards any purchase you would like make here at the store. This can include in stock, special orders and custom built instruments. If you live in the State of Connecticut the current tax laws allow you to deduct the trade in value from the purchase price prior to calculating sales tax, in effect adding 6.35% to the value of your trade. Read our testimonials and you will see that we are easy to deal with and are all about long-term relationships. 82 years and counting!

Outright Purchase. Every day we are buying fine-fretted instruments. We buy used acoustic and electric guitars, banjos, mandolins and other stringed instruments. We are especially interested in vintage and collectible instruments. Feel free to call the store or send an email with the details. Email is great because you can attach a photo or two. This is always very helpful. With over 125 years of combined experience in the music industry our expert staff will work to get you the maximum amount for your item.

Consignment. We are very happy to take your instrument in on consignment. Our standard fee is 25%. We are open to discussing other fee options on a case by case basis.

Caruso Music has been owned and operated by our family since 1929. My brother Larry and I took the business over from our dad in 1973. Our name is above the door, we honor that dearly.

- Richard Caruso
