Every student is treated as an individual, and if so desires, is placed with others who share the same musical interests and playing level. For the more advanced students there are classes available in which he or she can participate in ensemble playing. The ensembles consist of other musicians who are at a similar level. In some cases the student will play in an ensemble that consists of themselves and the instructors alone. The student will actually perform with the teacher as if they were playing a real concert.

Each instructor at the Caruso School of Music is a professional musician. They make a living playing and teaching music. All styles and levels of music are talk by each and every instructor. If you enjoy blues, jazz, classical, country, rap, funk, folk, Latin, swing or whatever, the Caruso School of Music will have you learning and playing the music of your choice within weeks.

Absolutely everyone has the ability to play music. All it takes is a little desire and a teacher that can guide you through the experience, fun and excitement of learning to play music a musical instrument.

Here are just a few benefits you're enjoying while taking lessons at the Caruso School of Music.

At the Caruso School of Music each student will be allowed access to the "Black Hole". The "Black Hole" is essentially a library that contains a near endless amount of musical information. The material includes sheet music, instructional tapes, on video and cassette, books, magazines, those hard to find arrangements of songs, lyrics, and tapes to sing and play along with. It is here that each student can go and further their education or just relax and enjoy watching or listening to their favorite artist.

At the Caruso School of Music each student will be allowed access to a multi-track-recording studio. Here the student can record songs they have written, make rhythm tracks or just experiment with ideas that "if not recorded" would be forgotten forever recording and listening to yourself is a great way of learning what musical areas you may need work on.

At the Caruso School of Music each student will have the opportunity, if they choose, to participate in EP's or ER's. Here each student is placed with others who are at the same level. They'll learn to function as a band. The members of the ensemble will choose a song to perform.

The instructors will listen to the performances and critique each member after each performance. learning to play and react with others is a very important step in becoming a good musician. For many it's also more fun than playing alone. For the most advanced students, there are opportunities to play in ensembles with the instructors. There are ensembles for all styles of music.

For the students who wish to become better at sight-reading, the Caruso School of Music offers ensemble reading. This is where the student will learn to read "on the spot" by analyzing the chart quickly. Reading with other musicians is much more productive and certainly more fun than reading alone!! All ensembles are video taped and can be viewed in the library. Videos are also available for the student to purchase.

Each student at the Caruso School of Music will be allowed to attend a wide variety of special events that occur throughout the year. The events will include concerts by local and national artists of all styles of music. "How to" seminars on subjects ranging from drum tuning to sequencing with computers. There will also be concerts given by the students. All the events are fun and educational!

The Caruso School of Music is the only school in South Eastern Connecticut to offer the Suzuki method. This method introduces the parent to the child's practicing sessions. Those who are interested should call the school to discuss the broad details of this method.
